In 2006, the Starliters created an original production reliving “The Golden Age of Radio.” For the 3rd annual production, the cast created a “live broadcast” radio show combining mystery shows, quiz shows, sports broadcast and comedy routines with music from the 20’s to the 50’s.
Personalities including the Andrews Sisters, Bob Hope, Jimmy Durante, Burns and Allen and Rosemary Clooney made appearances. And what would any radio show be without a live sound effects crew!
This show was more a more technical one, using projections to help tell the story. Because of the increased numbers of people in the chorus, part of the chorus was onstage for the entire show, and part was in a “band stand” in front of the stage. Costumes, props, lights and sound effects were a highlight.
