The Starliters 11th annual production paid tribute to the Solid Gold hit songs of the Jukebox and the locations that were its home. We visited the speakeasy, dance hall, country diner and video arcade that housed our jukebox.
Once television moved into everyone’s homes, the popular songs from the Jukebox expanded into TV shows like Your Hit Parade, American Bandstand and Solid Gold. Today, everyone carries their own personal “jukeboxes” with the smart phone.
This original production written by Celeste Lauer Yanke and Ellen Factor was very well received. The sets, props, costumes and projections helped the audience travel to each locale and enjoy the music of the Solid Gold Jukebox.
