“show choir“ – A group of people who combine choral singing with dance movements, sometimes within the context of a specific idea or story. Originally called glee club, swing choir or chorus, now it is known as “show choir.”
The Starliters 6th show, Encore! Our Show Choir Reunion, an original production written by Ellen Factor and Celeste Lauer Yanke, followed a story line of the alumni reunion of Wisdom High School Show Choirs. From the pep rally with Professor Hoot, the school mascot, to the rehearsals and subsequent move to the new high school building, the weekend reunion revisited some of the favorite music and memories telling their story in song and dance.
Music included favorites from Hollywood and the movies, the Sixties, Gershwin, and a tribute to our American Heroes.
