2026 ELECTION CANDIDATES
Office of PRESIDENT:
JOHN WOLBER
John was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Bradley University in 1974 and later earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. (He also developed a fondness for “Rocky Top” and “Chattanooga Choo-Choo” at this time.)
John’s career included working for Armstrong Cork Company in Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia; Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis (where he met his wife, Ann); and Mead Johnson/Bristol-Myers Squibb in Evansville, Indiana where they lived for 31 years. John’s time at Bristol-Myers Squibb included managing Industrial Engineering, Package Engineering, computer systems and Customs Compliance. John has sung with Guys and Dolls and Starliters since fall 2011 and has been part of the SPAC, Inc. Board of Directors for many years.
Office of VICE PRESIDENT:
DOUG BARBIERO
My music background started with my first piano lesson at age 6. The next year I joined my elementary school band in brass because I could read music, participating in various school music groups from first grade through twelfth. Becoming a music teacher, I was certified K-12 in both instrumental and vocal, teaching for 28 years. I was my daughter’s High School Band Treasurer for her last 2 years, as well as the marching band’s announcer for football games and competitions, also for her last 2 years.
I have been involved with rock bands since my sophomore year in high school, with three offers for a record deal in my Brooklyn, NY band. I still actively write, arrange, produce, and record when I can. I am currently playing with The Vinyls, a Solivita based band, as well as getting hired as a keyboard player for various clubs in Solivita. And since I own a PA system, I sometimes get hired to run sound for various clubs and organizations as well. Debbie and I moved to Solivita in 2020 and joined SPAC as soon as we could, joining both Guys & Dolls and Starliters. We thoroughly enjoy participating in SPAC and hope to be able to help out in any way we can.
Office of TREASURER:
HARVEY FACTOR
I have been the SPAC Treasurer since the beginning of the organization, as well as the technical director for SPAC.
I taught for 22 years in subjects which included science, math, computers, internet and accounting, at grade levels from 1st to 12th and at the college level.
I am a Certified Public Accountant (retired) and was a partner in a CPA firm for 16 years.
I combined both my business and educational background by volunteering as treasurer for a school music booster program, and by sharing my technical theatre experience with three school districts.
Office of SECRETARY:
CHERYL WILSON
Prior to retirement, I owned a travel agency, worked as a substitute teacher, and volunteered in my children’s schools. Music has always been an important part of my life, and I have sung in school, church, and community choirs for many years.
After retiring, my husband, Stan, and I spent several years traveling the country in our RV in search of our forever home. In late 2011, we discovered Solivita and immediately felt it was exactly what we had been looking for. Shortly after moving here in the summer of 2012, Stan and I joined Guys and Dolls and Starliters. I sing in the soprano section and, from 2013 through 2020, Stan and I served as Ticket Sales Chairpersons. I currently serve on the SPAC Social Committee and have been Treasurer of the Solivita Big Money Bingo Club since 2015. In addition, I sing with the St. Ann Catholic Church Choir in Haines City.
Through my involvement in Solivita’s clubs, organizations, and events, I have developed a strong appreciation for the arts and entertainment opportunities that enrich our community. I would be honored to continue serving our residents as the SPAC Office of the Secretary and would sincerely appreciate your consideration and support.
Office of ASSISTANT TREASURER and MEMBER-AT-LARGE:
TIM MacFADYN
As a proposed candidate for the Solivita Performing Arts Council, Inc. (SPAC) Executive Board, I offer expertise in financial governance, operational oversight, and collaborative leadership to support achieving SPAC’S ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS. With an MBA, MPM, and extensive experience in fiscal management, strategic outcomes and compliance, I feel positioned to fill the vacant Secretary or Member-At-Large/Assistant Treasurer roles.
SHARON VAUGHN
I am volunteering for the office of Assistant Treasurer/At-Large SPAC Board member.
Qualifications: 2022-2023 Treasurer of the Stonegate Women’s Golf Association, handling dues payments, tracking and paying weekly tournament winnings and handling payments for special events. Received a clean audit report for league finances as well as the league’s annual charity golf tournament. 2024 to Present: Treasurer of the Solivita Travel Club handling payments of trip fees and all related financial and tax reporting. Received a clean report for the club’s first-ever audit for the 2025 calendar year.
MEMBER-AT-LARGE:
DEBBIE BARBIERO
I am Debbie Barbiero, and I am running for Member-at-Large. I enjoyed being secretary for the SPAC board for the last two years. I have organized the set up, baskets and 50/50 raffles for the two Vinyl fundraising dances supporting the SPAC Endowment Fund.
As an elementary music teacher for 35 years, there have been so many examples of organizing, leading and supporting events and committees that I have done. I also was very involved as a band parent during my daughter’s high school band years. I would be happy to continue to work with SPAC wherever I am needed.
DUKE LeDONNE
I am running to be a Member-at-Large on the SPAC Board.
As a trained scientist, I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 26 years. I was primarily a problem solver and trouble shooter requiring me to identify problems and then devise, set up, and run experiments to address these problems.
Musically, I began playing guitar at age 12 and soon began playing with various groups professionally. This also involved setting up equipment, amplifiers and PA systems. I also ran PA systems for other groups. In addition I studied and became skilled as a music mixer. I have recorded my own music, mixed it and published it. This has given me the knowledge and experience to do the mixing work I perform for the various SPAC productions.
Taken together, I believe that my experience in science, music and SPAC will allow me to make meaningful contributions as a Member-at-Large to the SPAC, Inc. Board.
MARIETTA LeDONNE
My husband Duke and I moved to Solivita from Philadelphia where I was a pharmacist for nearly 30 years. Since moving to Solivita, I have performed with the Guys and Dolls and the Starliters. I have been in several musical groups over the years. I belonged to the Women’s Chorale Ensemble while in college. I was also a member of a church contemporary choir. I served on an advisory board for the Catholic Families of Solivita.
DONNA McILWAIN
I would like to apply for the position of Member-At-Large in SPAC. I have been singing with both Guys and Dolls and Starliters for over 10 years. I was a member of the Decatur Civic Chorus for 11 years and served as Treasurer and President of that organization. I performed many services and oversaw many events and organizational activities for that chorus.
I have been an active Solivita chorus member participating in not only regular group performances but also small ensembles, Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day and Veteran’s hospital visits.
DONNA TOTH
I am applying for the position of Member-at-Large for SPAC.
I’ve been a member of SPAC for the past 4 years in Guys and Dolls and Starlighters. I’m also a member of the Solivita Theatre Group and Showtime Entertainers. I love performing and entertaining others. I believe I can be an asset to the SPAC Board of Directors, and if chosen for the position, I will assist in any way I am needed.
I have manned ticket sales and promoted the concerts to all of the clubs and social groups to which I am a member.
I will attend all meetings and participate actively to represent the position of members on decisions when my opinions are requested. I will do my best to handle this position responsibly and well.
As a Member-at-Large of SPAC, Inc., I feel I have enough experience and knowledge of the group to provide meaningful opinions. It is important to me that our group remains welcoming and open to people who like to sing while still providing quality performances. Our mission of providing endowment grants to community schools is an important activity of SPAC, Inc. as well.
